Miley Cyrus está lanzando una fundación benéfica llamada The Happy Hippie Foundation. Uno de los pasos es esta versión del tema de Joan Jett ‘Different’, entonado precisamente junto a ella misma. Está dedicado a recaudar fondos para ayudar a jóvenes gays, lesbianas, transexuales y bisexuales con problemas.
Joan Jett ha sido también reivindicada por Britney, cuando esta trató de hacer suyo el clásico ‘I Love Rock’n Roll’. Mientras este fue número 1 en medio mundo, ‘Different’ era sólo uno de los cortes de ‘Unvarnished’, el décimo disco de Joan Jett, editado en 2013.
