Jim James de My Morning Jacket, abrumado por «la misma mentira de siempre»

Jim James no ha abandonado My Morning Jacket, que hace poco más de un año publicaban un disco llamado ‘The Waterfall‘ que incluía una canción tan grande como ‘Big Decisions’. Sin embargo, sí mantiene una carrera en solitario de manera paralela que este otoño dará un paso hacia adelante tras haber editado ‘Regions of Light and Sound of God‘ en 2013.

Hoy el artista anuncia un nuevo disco llamado ‘Eternally Even’, que sale el 4 de noviembre, y cuyo single de presentación, bajo el título ‘Same Old Lie’, suena enfadado. La letra habla sobre la identidad, la honestidad hacia uno mismo y la necesidad de pertenecer a un grupo («It’s the same old lie they tell you when you’re little / Try to make you forget just what it is you’re really made of / And follow on just like most everyone»), introduciendo ligeramente el tema político («You best believe it’s the silent majority / If you don’t vote it’s on you not me / It’s the same old lie, told from the dawn of time»).

El álbum se compondrá de 9 canciones, de las cuales una estará dividida en dos partes. Tendrá el atrayente título de ‘We Ain’t Getting Any Younger’.
