Qué ganisimas le tengo al The Scroll of Taiwu.
>Let's take the Chinese on loading screen as an example again:
>"加载之术,或遇伪死,此乃龟息之术也,望静候之⋯"
>If I have to literally translate it to normal English, it will means almost gibberish like this:
>"The loading skill might sometimes playing dead, this is also the slumbering skill, please calmly wait..."
>Unless I have to make it totally understandable with modern terminology like:
>"Please wait patiently while the game is loading, it's normal if it is freezing."
>And if I translate it to Old English that is somehow understandable, like most of the fairytale books in post-Renaissance era, the job of translation would be difficult. I tried my best to translate and it will be like:
>"Pending shalt jest with death,
>'tis normal swa let it rest.
>With patience 'till it awake,
>let joy upon thee to play."
>I mean, it's important to have a poetic feeling more than the historical-related use of literature, if not careful it will totally twist the original meaning.
>So my approach would be a poetic Modern English:
>"Slow loading could be a trick,
>because death is what it mimic.
>Have patience, let it awake,
>and be ready to play."
>I was buried my head for just translate this line for a whole hour. It's really not easy at all if we take Classical Chinese too seriously.
