"The a has always been a problem with the circular logo since the idea was first drawn in marker on a piece of card, it has never really achieved the perfect geometry that seemed possible. If only we'd called ourselves Ploid but we are where we are.
With much tweaking a solution has been reached, so it is now created entirely from equally spaced circles. The a is now 'kissing the i' slightly, as you point out, but in this form there are many possibilities open to us to animate it, which is our intention."
