"As Ford reclined in front of me with his white dress shirt unbuttoned to the navel, I noted that in several of Gyllenhaalâs most recent movies â including Nightcrawler, Southpaw, and Demolition â the directors made Gyllenhaal shave his chest. Not so Ford, whoâs plenty hirsute himself.
âIt just never occurred to me that he should shave his chest!â Ford said, aghast. âI happen to like body hair. I think people should leave it alone â Iâm not a fan of all this manscaping that goes on. I donât really get it.â
Ford gestured southward. âIf you like the chest, you should see whatâs down here,â he said with a grin. âThere is no manscaping.â Ford repeated it for emphasis: âThere is no manscaping.â
With that image of his untrammelled leading man in mind, the interview was done, though Ford wasnât. After we finished our discussion, the provocative designer-director walked me to the door and winked. âNice talking to you,â he said, adding, âIâll get Jake to show you his bush sometime.â"
