Ordinarily, the release of an album may proceed without a fixed date being established at the outset of the process. A general timeframe is usually determined, yet rarely a precise date, as it is well understood that the production of an album requires a variable amount of time that cannot be defined with certainty from the beginning.
On this occasion, however, Madonna resolved to create a “sequel” album, and it therefore seemed only natural to align its release with the anniversary of Confessions. All partners were consequently secured for a mid-November launch (this included those involved in the video, the promotional campaign, the manufacturing of physical formats, and so forth).
The production of the album then unfolded at its own pace (Stuart would never compromise on matters of quality), and just before the summer holidays they resolved to postpone the release, fearing they would not be ready in time. The individuals and teams previously booked for mid-November were accordingly notified of the delay. In this profession, if one cancels on a collaborator, within an hour that person will already have been rebooked for another project.
Subsequently, and following adjustments to Madonna’s schedule, she managed to arrange additional studio sessions, and the album is now virtually complete, thus, in theory, a mid-November release remains possible. The challenge lies, however, in once again rearranging the schedules of all teams (video, promotion, and so forth) to align them with a mid-November timeline, a task on which they are presently engaged.
I believe I have shared with you all that I reasonably can, without disclosing too much regarding the content of the album itself.
